  2. Candidate will be bound to register a minimum of forty (40) Out-of-School-Children (below primary level) in the age group of 8-14 years in his/her community otherwise registration will not be completed.

Literacy Teachers Jobs 2023. Terms & Conditions:

  1. Teacher shall be appointed purely on part time/time-bound/honorary/contract basis for a period of one (01) year (extendable on satisfactory performance), within the Union Council, where he/she permanently resides.
  2. Selected teacher will arrange one room of suitable size for the establishment of Centre. iii. Applications must be submitted not later than 11-09-2023. Late applications will not be entertained.
  3. Applications submitted by hand or through courier/postal service will not be entertained.

    Objectives

    Establishment of 12,019 Non-Formal Basic Education Schools in this project, the targeted beneficiary group will be more than 555,000 out of school children within the age of 4 – 16 years throughout Punjab. The district wise detail of targets is at Annexure-01.

    Bottomline of the Project

    The main focus of the project beneficiaries will be female, poorest of the poor, labour class, destitute, orphans, children with special needs/physically & disabled, children of minority groups, Gypsies/nomads, Children in the workforce, children in Masajid/Madaris, street Children of brick kiln workers, daily wage earners and other poor segments of society, children of internally displaced persons, children living in far-flung, difficult to access areas, children living in slums, and children of the disempowered neglected segments of society.

    The Phase-I of the project has been engaged in bringing into the fold of literacy these disadvantaged groups which have fallen out of the net of the formal education system due to a range of different reasons such as poverty, access, distance from school, socio-cultural constraints, children being in the workforce, hardships of the parents, the mind-set of the parents, etc. The reason for the existence of the non-formal system and its challenge is to bring into the fold of literacy these out of schools and illiterate children. This is a very challenging task and requires great innovation, flexibility, and extensive mobilization

    The department has been able to attract many such children to its schools such as street children, slum dwellers, children in the workforce, children in Masajid/Madaris, internally displaced persons, physically challenged children, nomads, gipsies, minority groups, children in far-flung areas such as tribal belts, desert terrains, and mountain hamlets.
